Position Summary:

We are looking for an Electric Pallet Jack Operator to join our rapidly expanding team in the Portland area. The Electric Pallet Jack Operator is responsible for, operating the EPJ, packing bagged product into boxes and/or stacking cases onto pallets in a refrigerated environment. Essential Functions include but are not limited to inspecting, monitoring, and communicating problems with equipment or product to the Lead.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper coding and sealing of bags and boxes before packing into cases or onto pallets.

• Ensure proper stacking and placement of finished cases on pallets.

• Understand different case packs and weight ranges of product.

• Understand Company quality standards for product defects and immediately report excessive defect levels.

• Monitor packing equipment to ensure everything is working correctly.

• Communicate with co-workers at shift change regarding situations that have or may impact production operation.

• Demonstrate good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).

• Perform work within Company quality standards and governmental regulatory standards.

• Follow all safety rules and regulations.

• Practice 5s and clean as you go.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Basic knowledge of simple math skills

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English required.

• As a general laborer will be responsible for assembling, assisting, and completing various tasks or objects to ensure that results will be the best quality. Position would be eligible to become an electrical apprentice.
• Assemble signal arms and fixtures on power poles prior to them being set.
  Assist with setting poles, structures, and power foundations.
  Shovel rock, tamp poles, and tamp trenches.
  Glue pipe and pull wire in conduit.
  Tying of Steel Cages.
  Assist in concrete pours and finishing.
  Load, unload, and haul materials and equipment.
  All other duties as assigned.

• Responsible for assembling and packaging The James Skinner Baking Company’s food products. These duties in this production facility: Make-up, Roll-in, Guglar, Oven, Depanner, Print Icer, Sleever, Box Erector, Pillow Pack, Tray/lid Maker. This position has general expectations; ensure you complete the paperwork accurately, able to efficiently complete the tasks to keep up with the customer production needs, ensure safety is always maintained, able to work independently and have good time management. Must possess the skills to work with a sense of urgency.Preferably Bilingual.
  Follow all safety-GMP and SQF Food Safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  Ensure work area and machine is clean and organized, and free of potential hazards to employees.
  Practice maintaining safe work environment.
  Validate product criteria for work area and materials using the MCP’s (Manufacturing Control Plans) for each specific item.
  Follow production orders and company policies and procedures.
  Maintain operations data such as time, waste, and finished goods.
  Observe work, and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that machine conforms to production and processing standards-report issues to Lead/Supervisor
  Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  At the end of shift each person is responsible for general clean up.
  The employee understands and complies with all food safety policies, procedures and programs as stated in the Company’s Food Safety Manual.

• Cleaning: Flushing and emptying septic tanks, cleaning sewers, manholes, culverts, and catch basins
• Repairing: Patching walls and partitions, replacing damaged drain tile, repairing breaks in underground piping, and installing water mains and fire hydrants
• Inspecting: Using specially designed equipment to locate problems in manholes and sewer lines
• Operating: Running sewer cleaning equipment to clear stoppages
• Measuring: Measuring excavation sites and marking areas for digging
• Communicating: Working with supervisors and other workers
