Hospice Care

Unemployed
08.2021 - 09.2022
  • I spent six months caring for my Aunt as she battled cancer. Her time was spent in comfort and with company. I was in charge of all med distributions, Dr.s appointments, nurse and aide visits and handled all affairs after she passed. Finished probate in September of 2022 and returned home with my daughter.

Associate

Walmart
12.2020 - 08.2021
  • Worked as an associate at Walmart. My first store was in Clinton, TN for 3 months. I commuted 116 miles roundtrip a day, 5 days a week. That is the level of commitment and loyalty that I show and give to my job and work ethic. In the middle of March 2021, I moved to the Williamsburg, KY store to help reduce gas costs, as the increased prices hit the paycheck pretty hard. Another reason for the move, is that I took advantage of Walmart’s free education advancement and enrolled in the Optician program. My original store does not have a vision clinic for me to do the externship but the Williamsburg store does, so the decision was pretty easy to put in for a transfer. While, I study, I work on the floor, stocking freight, cashiering, customer courtesy, zoning sections (making sure product is located correctly and neatly and stock that doesn’t belong, gets put back in its proper location) and keeping the area clean. It’s like being in the military, every thing dress right dress and high speed, low drag. Unfortunately, my Aunt developed cancer and needed a family member to help her with hospice and handle the estate, so I had to leave Walmart.

Caretaker and Stay at Home Dad

Unemployed
12.2019 - 12.2020
  • The Covid-19 pandemic put a halt to any future job offerings. I used this time to nurse my dad back to health, where he was independent again and no longer needed me for, day to day activities and could get himself to his medical appointments. After, his six-month checkup in Nov. 2020 and his MRI showed no signs of lesions or blood clots, I got myself ready to get back into the workforce. The Coronavirus also halted all school activities, so at-home learning for my child meant at home dad, to monitor my daughter and make sure she completed her work. During this time, we also had to deal with the passing of our mother.

Team Leader

Firestone Industrial Products
05.2018 - 12.2019
  • I was hired in to fulltime at Firestone after 6 months of temporary assignment. Normally it takes a year to 18 months to get hired directly but I showed leadership skill, quick learning capability, attention to safety, quality and detail. I worked on the floor for 3 months before being promoted to Team Leader. Three months after that, I was covering for supervisors during their vacations and time off. It was my responsibility to maintain the safety of the two teams in my section and oversee all changeovers, inventory management, labor hours, production reports, quality control and production. Other responsibilities were paperwork accuracy for all manifests, correct SOP being followed during the production run and up to date product identification. I was the first to troubleshoot any problems and decide whether a supervisor or manager needed to be involved. Due to my father being in an accident, I had to leave Firestone in order to be his full time caretaker while he recovered.

Machine Operator

Nesco Resource
11.2017 - 05.2018
  • Nesco Resource is a temp agency, at the Firestone Air Spring and Air Ride plant in Williamsburg, KY. I worked in the Auto Sleeve department in the Ucell 7 Tesla X and Ucell 8 Tesla S section. In 5 months, I was already proficient at all the stations of both Ucells and helped train new hires, when the Supervisor and Team Leader were performing other duties. I maintained the paperwork of the Ucell, I was working in and updated hourly production results, machine issues and product identification. This show of leadership, aptitude and motivation got me voted for employee of the month. Spending 20 years, in one profession has allowed me to transition into this new position quite smoothly, as a lot of the responsibilities and familiarity are similar and my take charge approach, stems from 18 years in a leadership role, as a career Chief Engineer.

Chief Engineer

Otto Candies LLC
02.2004 - 11.2017
  • While contracted with Otto Candies, for approximately 14 years, it was my duty to maintain the structural, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and ballast integrity of multi-million dollar oil service vessels. I had tours of duty around the Gulf Coast states and international contracts in Mexico, Africa and with Seacor and Farol subcontracts in Brazil. My responsibilities were to provide the customer with on demand supply of drilling fluids and products within crucial timelines of production, without having downtime to the machinery or vessel. This was done through a constant upkeep of the maintenance program and industry, international, Federal, customer, office, insurance and U.S. Coast Guard regulations. My office duties required me to maintain a detailed daily log of vessel monitoring and log in to the office portal to file all daily maintenance, performance, inventory, usage, vendor reports, vendor and maintenance requests, security files and control documents. I was proficient in my work and it showed as my vessel was number one in performance, least amount of maintenance costs and least amount of downtime for 4 straight years. The U.S. Coast Guard, American Bureau of Shipping, Lloyd's of London, Brazil Navy, Petrobras and Port State Authority have all complimented my pollution prevention control documents, log books, maintenance and vendor records, safety inspection plan and cleanliness of my engine room and have brought other engineers from other vessels to use as an example and contacted corporate with kudos in having older vessels look and operate like brand new and having crews that put pride into their work.
