Work History

Senior Developer

Party City
04.2019 - Current
  • For this $2B public consumer retail company (with over 1000 retail locations), designed, developed, and optimized high-performance, low-latency cloud APIs to enable seamless e-commerce integration, including real-time store inventory checks, delivery scheduling, curbside pickup, ship-from-store, and buy-online-pickup-in-store (BOPIS) functionalities, enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Developed business-critical delivery engine APIs to determine nearest store to customer’s address, integrating with multiple delivery vendors to ensure seamless order fulfillment. The engine employed failover mechanism, sequentially attempting vendors until successful, and processed vendor webhooks to enable real-time delivery tracking for both customers and stores. These APIs played key role in e-commerce operations, contributing to 30% sales growth.
  • Developed and maintained business-essential store-facing applications, including balloon and Holiday apps, order management tools for picking orders, scheduling and canceling orders, item locator, transfer systems, and hourly sales dashboards. These applications were critical to daily store operations, enabling seamless workflows, efficient order processing, and real-time data access.
  • Developed secure applications by enforcing strong encryption standards, including SHA-256 salt and key encryption, implementing robust authorization mechanisms, integrating LDAP and IDM for user authentication, and leveraging AWS WAF for application-layer protection and AWS GuardDuty for continuous threat detection and monitoring
  • Architect and implement scalable microservices using cloud-native technologies and serverless computing platforms
  • Developed reusable code libraries that streamlined development efforts and improved consistency in software architecture across multiple projects.
  • Established clear communication channels between stakeholders, facilitating better decision-making throughout project lifecycles.
  • Optimized database structures, resulting in faster query processing times and improved data integrity.
  • Set clear goals for project milestones, keeping development efforts on track toward timely completion dates with desired outcomes achieved consistently across releases.
  • Mentored junior developers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Managed software versioning using Git, enabling smooth collaboration among team members while maintaining detailed change records for future reference.
  • Implemented rigorous testing strategies, contributing to a significant reduction in reported bugs during deployment phases.

OMNICHANNEL DEVELOPER

Party City
02.2015 - 04.2019
  • Played a pivotal role on the Omnichannel team, leading the development, deployment, and ongoing support of mission-critical applications serving over 1,000 retail locations and the e-commerce platform.
  • Developed an end-to-end process for retrieving pending print tickets for store orders using a .NET batch process at the store level. The process called an API built in AWS to pull pending tickets from AWS S3, enabling sub-second ticket printing on thermal printers at store locations. The print tickets provided essential order details, including item pickup instructions and customer/delivery times, ensuring efficient in-store order fulfillment.
  • Developed various Halloween apps to support stores during the peak sales season, including a Halloween picture wall app that allowed customers to view costumes while displaying real-time stock availability. Sales associates could print costume details and customer names for efficient order fulfillment. Additionally, built a pick-and-fill app to streamline merchandise retrieval, ensuring timely availability of items on the sales floor.
  • Developed a .NET customer-facing self-service kiosk for custom invitations, banners, and balloon orders, boosting in-store sales, and designed a Media Dashboard for the executive team, showcasing live feeds from e-commerce, email campaigns, mobile apps, and in-store platforms to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Debugged complex software issues, conducted field testing, and delivered stable product releases.
  • Gathered client requirements, translated them into technical specifications, and estimated work hours using Scrum methodology to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Adapted to new technologies and programming languages, contributing to increased team productivity and innovation.
