Program Director/Advanced Instructor of EMS
Oversees the administration of EMS education courses at the institution. Supervises full-time and part-time faculty, serves as lead instructor of the Paramedic Program, and provides administrative supervision of the EMT program. Serves as the primary advisor for all students in the EMS program (approximately 30-50 students per academic year). Directly responsible for maintaining independent program accreditation and maintaining approval from the state Department of Health. Prepares and administers budget oversight for the program exceeding over $200,000 per year.
Sought, applied, and administered state and federal grant programs for support of the program exceeding $500,000. Maintains inventory in accordance with state procurement guidelines.
Serves as faculty mentor to faculty both internally and within other departments in the college.
Redesigned both EMT and Paramedic curricula, utilizing the ADDIE curriculum design model. Introduced new teaching methods resulting in an increase in National Licensure exam rates from a historic low to consistently exceeding the national average.
Developed new courses and degree programs to meet key workforce demands. Submitted course approval to both accrediting body and state higher education board for course approvals.
Responsible for maintaining programmatic accreditation including yearly reports, self-study reports, site visits, and other associated duties related to accreditation.
Developed marketing strategies for the EMS program leading to increased recruitment.
Maintains positive relationships with ambulance services and hospitals that provide clinical locations for students and who also hire graduates of the program. Secured donations to benefit the college as a result of these partnerships exceeding $50,000.
