My job at Wilmington tug started with me being a diesel tech. I did mechanical services on the tug boats. That includes doing repairs, changing the oil, and doing some steel work. Eventually I moved on to working on the tug boats as a deck hand, which I currently still am. My job is to do the labor on the boat. that includes throwing lines, tying up the boats, and firing up the boat and checking the engine room regularly when we have jobs. I also do work on deck like using the needle gun and painting. we escort ships as well as put pilots onboard.
I was a landscaper. I cleaning out flower beds, mowed grass and tended to any upkeep the clients lawns needed. we’d also lay mulch down.
At the Delaware City marina I was a yard hand. I was responsible for waxing, washing, and cleaning duties on the boats. Along with that i also handled various mechanical repairs along with painting and sanding. I also have experience with fiberglass work. While I was at the marina I was also a dock hand. I would help dock the boats and help fuel them.
