  • Currently working as a System Director of Sterile Processing overseeing six facilities on a daily basis. Responsibilities are as follows: Monitors/Manages budget, productivity, and quality metrics across the organization. Works on strategic planning to maximize efficiencies. Creates standard operating procedures, policies, competencies, Standardize SPD products, and equipment to ensure we are following same standard of care across the organization. Conducts audits for Joint Commission Readiness and ensures each facility is keeping up with current guidelines/recommendations from AAMI/TJC. Creates and implements Lean Six Sigma project to improve workflow, efficiencies, and cost savings opportunities. Conducts/Coordinates product evaluations for OR across the organization (Ortho Power Equipment, Scope/Video Equipment, etc…) Manages service agreements on equipment that Sterile Processing Department Manages (Stryker ProCare, Instrument Repair, Scope Repair, SPD Equipment Service Agreements, etc…). Implementation of new system wide instrument tracking system and management project that includes connectivity between all facilities, Cerner Interface, and Equipment Interface capabilities. Oversees management of departments, staffing, and salaries which include, but are not limited to addressing corrective action/coaching of staff, mentoring management/supervisors, annual evaluations, market adjustments/compensation, recruiting, and management of staffing levels.

My main job duties include: keeping up with updated AMMI/TJC guidelines, standardizing processes and practices, creating job competencies, departmental SOP’s, managing department budget, prioritizing department improvements, mentoring staff, and increasing quality/productivity.

  • While at University of Kentucky I was a second shift supervisor/interim manager at the Main Chandler Hospital. I had sixteen employees under my direct supervision as a second shift supervisor then fifty-five employees as an interim manager. My job duties include going over the OR schedule for the next day and make a needs list for each service, prioritize the workflow and delegating job responsibilities among staff. I had direct contact with surgeons, service line coordinators, charge nurses, and As well as the director/managers in the OR to discuss their needs and problems that they are experiencing on a regular basis. I also mentor and teach new staff members on processes, proper ways of doing things, and answer any questions they might have. Handled ordered/repairs of all instrumentation for the hospital, trouble shot equipment issues, put in work orders, did the department schedule, and made updates/changes to the instrument tracking system.
