Extracurricular

  • Special Olympics - volunteers on the track as the head timing official. Manages other volunteers and provides accurate heat times to the athletes & coaches.
  • Powerlifting - strength and fitness training with the goal of competing in powerlifting meets/competitions.
  • Hiking and Travel - finding nice hiking spots, especially in Winter, locally and while travelling.

Projects

  • Canadian Fresh Mozzarella - launched four new items with a Canadian regulation compliant recipe and packaging. Initial launch was late spring 2023 and year-to-go sales hit +1 million with an additional $700K in contribution margin.
  • Kraft -> Lactalis GTIN - after Lactalis acquired Kraft's natural cheese business, the GTIN's needed to be updated to Lactalis owned codes. In addition to that update, other elements of the packaging ranging from new regulatory requirements to marketing callouts were added as needed.
  • Quality Control Korea - Korean customers have a much higher standard for quality issues than western customers. While none of these were a food safety issue, we still decided to set up a 100% sort at the plant to ensure that the product meets customer expectations. The reduction in claims submitted provided a net benefit for Lactalis despite the increased cost for a sort.
  • Shipper Case Integrity - Initiated a business relationship with Subway Canada and discovered that the shipper cases were collapsing under their weight during transit. This caused a huge loss in both profitability & reputation with a big customer. Lead a cross functional team including packaging engineers, logistics, quality insurance, sales, and planning to improve the case design and structure to eliminate product losses. Project was 100% successful as the issue was resolved and profitability was maintained without a price increase to the customer.
