  • I began working for Menards in the Shipping and Receiving department of the Wausau Menards store. I then transitioned into an intern and completed a 90 day paid Management Internship through the Wausau Menards store for U.W. Stout meeting my last graduation requirement.
  • Upon completing my internship and graduating college the General Manager of the Wausau Store offered me a special position and opportunity only available to qualifying high potential employees with Bachelor’s degrees which allows them to fast track into upper management through working and completing an extensive and accelerated 90 day Manager Training Program which Menards also offered.
  • I accepted the position of Manager Trainee at the Plover Menards store
  • The Manager Training Program essentially consisted of teaching me all retail management functions, processes, job duties, and responsibilities working directly with and being trained by every Department Manager in the store, the Human Resource Manager, the Assistant Store Managers and General Manager who was in charge of running the entire Menards Store.
  • Upon meeting all training requirements and passing all training phases and written examinations I successfully completed the Manager Training Program. I then ascended into upper management and was promoted to a Front End Office Department Manager in the Rhinelander Menards store.
  • The Front End Office Department Manager is the highest ranking department manager and is above all the other department managers in the entire store and is fourth from the top in management of the store directly following the 2nd Assistant Store Manager, the 1st Assistant Store Manager, and then the highest position at the store the General Manager.
  • The Front End Office Department Manager is in charge of managing all customer service duties including the customer service desk, returns desk, the entire garden center, in charge of managing all of store security and monitoring systems, manages over the contracted security guards in the guard shack and outside yard, cart pushers and cart return employees, responsible for every one of the cash registers and all the cashiers, the head cashier, in charge of all store revenue including ordering cash and change for daily operations and making all daily cash drops and bank deposits of cash from the store vault working directly with GardaWorld Cash security guards.
  • The Front End Office Department staffs the highest number of departmental employees sometimes reaching over 24 employees on payroll during the busy seasons
  • I also managed over two other managers the 2nd and 1st assistant managers in my department.
  • I assisted H.R. with employee screening and conducted interviews and was involved with hiring new team members.
  • I conducted all weekly departmental meetings and was in charge of department staff scheduling
  • I had to monitor payroll and departmental revenue intake and send employees home if we were slow especially during the winter after the holiday busy season subsided.
  • In charge of opening and closing the store, counting down all cash registers and documenting daily sales revenue and safely delivering all cash revenue to the vault and then was in charge of making substantial cash deposits to contracted armed bank security guards.
  • I was on a four week rotation with the store managers and for a weekend once a month i opened and closed the store and I was in charge of all store operations and acted at capacity of the Store managers and was responsible for all of their job duties and responsibilities in their absence on their off weekends.
