Lab Supervisor
5 Years 8 Months- I currently work for Mercy Hospital in Tiffin as the Lab Supervisor. I have been employed by Mercy for about 19 years. My primary job is supervising the lab. I also, conduct routine and stat tests for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease and perform related duties following established standards and practices. I understand and act effectively to all types of patients. Prepared specimens for testing and ensured timely completion of patient workflow. I review and evaluate patients' test results and am able to recognize abnormal, critical, or delta check failures. I perform QC and survey testing and ensure controls and instrument checks are within acceptable limits. I perform preventive maintenance and calibrations as required and perform troubleshooting when needed. I am responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance in Hematology, Coagulation, Histology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Blood Bank. I enter results in the computer accurately both manually and through instrument interfaces. I wear proper protective equipment and follow CAP standards.
