Work History

Maintenance Tech III / Fabricator

Smith and Nephew
03.2017 - Current
  • As Maintenance tech/ fabricator I was responsible for performing repairs on a variety of different types of cnc and manual machines like mills, lathes, swiss turn lathes, edm wires and edm plunge type machines, grinders, waterjets, 3d printers, and an assortment of other process line equipment like rinse tanks for anodization and chrome line tanks as well as passivation tanks
  • I would repair electrical as well as mechanical defects on machines if they were damaged by unexpected failures or inexperienced operators
  • As the fabricator I would help save the company money by building racks, tables, guards and many other types of fabricated devices to avoid the cost of outsourcing it and down time waiting on an outsource contractor.

Surface Dynamics
10.2015 - 03.2017
  • At Surface Dynamics we apply porous titanium coating and HA coatings to medical implants to encourage the growth of bone to the implant itself.

Machinist II/Team Lead

Sandvik Medical Solutions
02.2007 - 12.2011
  • As Medtronic was bought out by Sandvik I began my career with them as a Machinist I and just operated mills, lathes, and wire and plunge type edm machines
  • I grew in my progress and became a Machinist II and began setups and minor alterations in the programs when needed to have the machines perform correctly to produce the best parts possible
  • The more I progressed in my career I was sent from our Memphis location to our Alabama plant to train employees on the swiss turn lathes
  • While I was training the employees I was offered a Cell Leader position
  • Myself along with two day shift and two night shift employees, had three Star brand swiss turn lathes, two Tsugami swiss turn lathes, two Haas 5 axis mills, and two 2 axis lathes that we produced all components for medical instruments
  • As the Cell Lead I had the responsibility of keeping my co-workers on task, reassuring the quality of my parts as well as theirs, managing the programs and making sure they all performed correctly and within a timely manner.

Machinist Apprentice

Medtronic Sofamor Danek
10.2005 - 02.2007
  • As a machinist assistant I began my machining career by training with a Lead Machinist and understanding the companies ways of issuing materials, learning their production setups and how the way they perform their machining processes
