Down Stores/POS
Walmart
Bentonville, AR
09.2017 - 06.2018
While employed on the Down Stores Team with Walmart, I did not grow my skills by any significant margin
I put to use my skills developed over the years as a vendor in the environment to meet and exceed expectations on this team
My main responsibility on this team was to mitigate impacting issues, primarily withing the POS space, but inevitably including down power situations and network infrastructure hardware
Further utilized my POS knowledge to develop existing support documentation on the team, as well as new documentation to support my colleagues’ efforts
Do to the stagnant nature of this work, my desire to switch focus to networking was also an opportunity to reinvigorate my passion for IT.

Upon losing the Point of Sale contract CompuCom moved me to the Non-Point of sale team where I took phone calls from stores dealing with most back-office hardware
Computers, printers, servers, switches, and thin clients are all part of my daily responsibilities
When the Non-POS contract was outsourced CompuCom moved me to the critical team due to my technical experience where I worked with third-party vendors in resolving networking and cabling issues in addition to L2 tier support on Walmart store systems for escalated cases that led to a 62.5% reduction in third party cabling vendor dispatches
I also managed critical cases and worked with field solutions as well as logistics for expedited resolutions to meet client SLA, which drove down MTTR by 40 hours on average between December 2014 and April 2015 and improved SLA attainment to 95+%
