I followed my fiance to Mexico and lived there for over 5 years. I experienced the culture and I completely understand what it's like to learn a new language. I didn't speak much Spanish when I moved there and my wife didn't speak much English. My children are bilingual and I help to make sure they develop in both languages. I teach my wife English every day, just not in the classroom setting. I understand what my students are going through both as new speakers of English and as advanced students.
I spent a lot of time on the Island of Okinawa, Japan and also in Fallujah and Ramadi Iraq when I was in the military before I met my wife. I am to this day, fascinated by other cultures and languages. My passion for navigating a diverse world of integrated humans gives me the drive to pass along whatever I can to help others to integrate into new places. That starts with learning the language.
Teaching English in Mexico City was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I want this type of work to be my main job with arts and music on the side.
Managed the finances of the post as well as performed duties of post adjutant. As adjutant, I kept records of the memberships and worked closely with the post commander in day to day operations. I also had to help run the digital tally systems for the commander/bar manager.
