Laser Spectroscopy and Chemical Propulsion Lab

• Designed and constructed hardware to conduct laser spectroscopy experiments in field environments at client facilities.
• Coded and tested control software in python to remotely monitor and control testing equipment to increase field-testing capability and streamline setup times in the lab.
• Designed printed circuit boards that allowed existing equipment in the lab to be used with up to four times the number of previous sensors while also limited noise experienced by those sensors. These were then integrated into a custom control box that can be deployed in the field to control and evaluate various propulsion and combustion systems.

Laser Spectroscopy and Chemical Propulsion Lab

• Worked with graduate students to design a liquid cooled, additively manufactured gaseous rocket engine, where the major contribution was the design of the water cooling system.
• Set up and helped run various experiments using laser absorption spectroscopy and a gaseous rocket engine.

• Worked with the startup's lead engineer to design an integrated solar power and battery storage system that would allow for more economical utilization of solar power.
• Conducted experiments on the feasibility of keeping such an integrated system's batteries within acceptable operating temperatures while minimizing power usage.
• Reviewed and reported on the economic feasibility and impact of integrated solar and battery systems while the business worked with startup accelerator programs.

Hypersonics Lab

• Conducted thermodynamic analysis of a super-critical CO2 cycle to enable proper cooling of high-pressure pump system, then designed the cooling system for that pump.
• Planned the loading of CO2 into the super-critical system to ensure the cycle could run properly.

• Mentored junior staff members, helping them develop their leadership potential and advance in their careers.
• Coordinated personnel effectively to achieve desired results.

• Conducted nightly patrols of a large campus to ensure the secure status of corporate and government property.
• Handled entrance control checks, including validation of authorizations and security screenings.
