  • As part of the Sharp Healthcare Network, Grossmont is a Certified Stroke/STEMI center and paramedic base station. Served as Lead Nurse and Clinical Nurse, capably and efficiently worked in ninety-seven acute bed emergency room, eight fast track beds, and twelve psychiatric beds.
  • While Lead Clinical Nurse, I oversaw the daily activities of six registered nurses, 1-2 vocational nurses, 2-3 emergency department technicians, and six-unit clerks/registration staff.

  • Managed seventeen bed trauma unit, overseeing four registered nurses and five active-duty Navy corpsmen daily with one physician and one mid-level provider on staff.
  • Assisted the charge nurse, in the daily administrative, patient flow, management of care, triage and ESI category assignment, and overall daily needs of the department.
  • Provided orientation of new staff - physicians, nurses and corpsman - to the department upon their arrival.
  • Oversaw the medical transports of patients between American and Japanese hospitals, working to overcome both the cultural and language barriers.
