Kaashvi Ahuja

Bachelor student with deep-rooted interest in Environmental Conservation, International Relations and Psychology. As someone with an international experience of living in 5 countries, more recently having resided in Qatar for 10+ years, I am highly adaptable and can work in a variety of settings.

JULY 2019 - AUGUST 2019

Brown University- Environmental Leadership Lab (Volunteering)

• Camped in Kachemak bay state park where my team and I sampled marine organisms with a variety of different methods including random and systematic sampling
• Photographed Matanuska glacier to compare current glacial meltwater and glacial retreat to that of previous years as an indication of the progression of global warming
• Interviewed conservationists working under the Alaska Department of Fish and Game about how the seasonal migration and breeding habits of Sockeye and Chinook salmon have been impacted by Climate Change
• Collaborated with members of the indigenous Iñupiat peoples in Anchorage to write a mock letter to the Trump Administration advising them on the drawbacks of drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
• Participated in indigenous culture immersion and talked to Iñupiat peoples about whale hunting

JULY 2021 - AUGUST 2021

Columbia University, Remote - Trial Advocacy Course

• Collaborated with peers to represent the defendant in a Mock Trial
• Debated in front of a jury and presented my opening statement as part of the defense team
• Researched fingerprinting and DNA testing to create air-tight data analysis of evidence to present in court as the expert witness in preparation for the trial
• Exercised critical analysis skills while making opposing statements for the prosecution during the trial

AUGUST 2023

Outward Bound Adventures - 19 Day Pinnacle

• Embarked on a 19 day an intensive backpacking and survival expedition in Snowdonia, Wales
