Kacee Griffin

· Function as a member of the ALS and/or critical care transport team and is responsible for the direct provision of care for critically ill and traumatically injured patients both on the ground and in the air

· Provide patient care which includes systemic head to toe assessment, stabilization, and intervention while promoting safety and efficiency of MedCenter Air operations.

· Performs under the supervision of the Medical Control Physician either by continuous radio contact or direct consultation.

· Initiate and maintain IV fluids, continuous drips, and blood products. Procedures to include RSI and modified RSI intubation, surgical or needle cricothyrotomy, needle decompression, and IO placement.

· Equally responsible for the lives and safety of each crew member and patient.

· Serve as a member of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system.

· Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care for both patient and chosen support system that that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death.

· Utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their healthcare journey.

· Accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures.

· Managed assessment and interpretation of the physical and psychosocial status of critically ill and traumatically injured patients.

· Implemented therapeutic plan of care for the stabilization and management of patient during interfacility transport.

· Collaborated with the acute care nurse practitioner, physician, and other transport team members with the transport protocols.

· Performed interventions under the supervision of the Medical Control Physician either by continuous radio contact or direct consultation.

· Evaluated patient outcomes following interventions throughout all phases of transport.

· Participated in hospital outreach education and public relations programs.

· Served as the Charge Nurse supervising registered nurses, paramedics, and EMT’s.
