Accomplished 12 year LPN with many areas of experience ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, with a heart for people. Quickly establish rapport with co-workers, patients/families, physicians, and outside agencies who work with the facility, such as pharmacies, etc. Dependable, punctual, positive, and assertive, has excellent clinical skills, especially in discernment for emergent and non-emergent care, and regarding rehospitalization.
Had a one on one position with a child who required a one on one nurse throughout her transit to and from and while at school every day. The child's condition was extremely fragile and had to be monitored closely to prevent an adrenal crisis. This LPN role is quite different from others and was very beneficial for learning new life skills while also doing the role of the classroom aide.
In addition, I was the only nurse present for entire school, so I therefore cleaned many fresh, superficial wounds and advised when further examination by a physician would be necessary.
Checked vital signs during routine wellness check ups, provided vaccines as ordered by the physicians.
Assessed children during sick visits, assessed to give an accurate description of a patient's status to the physician
Worked as a phone nurse triaging patients to determine if they need to be seen in the office, or if there are treatments to be done at home, educating parents how how to manage the sickness.
As a phone nurse, i also spent a great deal of time with insurance companies working on prior authorizations as well as pre certifications for testing.

I have found in nursing that my area of expertise clinically is the treatment and education to patients/caregivers of all types of wounds.
During my years of doing home health, as the nurse I had to be the eyes to the doctor to report condition of the wound, any signs and symptoms of infection, or changes that may have occurred, as well as reporting healing so that we could discharge. During that time, I treated a large variety of wounds in many different conditions, some belonging to diabetics, immobile, malnourished, burn patients, and many other types who were prone to conditions that would delay healing. I treated patients successfully many times and have seen chronic wounds healed.
I have worked in two separate long term care facilities where wound care prevention was a priority, and consistent treatment following the physician’s orders was vitally important. I have vast experience with a large number of wound types and treatments, including wound vacs, as well as treating a patient who has wounds on a majority of the body surface requiring two sterile dressing changes daily.
I also have a great deal of experience in educating the patient and/or caregiver on monitoring the wounds for changes, signs of infection, when to call the dr, etc., as well as successfully educating them on ordering their own supplies and doing their own dressing changes when the wound has become chronic.
My experience is extensive and invaluable and I could be a great asset to this company!
