Summary

Experienced high school math teacher and special education instructional support teacher seeking my first position as a school counselor. Recently graduated with a master’s degree and earned my School Counseling Certification. Passionate about helping and guiding adolescents, so I am eager to fulfill that desire in the role of a school counselor. With 19 years of experience in education, I have gained extensive knowledge in the field. Years of coaching have allowed me to mentor, guide, coach, and support students beyond teaching in the classroom. Transitioning from a classroom teacher to a school counselor is an opportunity I greatly appreciate and eagerly anticipate. Compassionate and knowledgeable, I possess the necessary skills to help students achieve their educational goals and personal well-being. Providing preventive education, advocacy, mediation, and counseling to all students while being sensitive to socioeconomic and cultural differences, I will effectively contribute to the objectives of the counseling program. Committed to working with and influencing students to become their best selves and successful young adults as they plan for graduation and their futures in the real world.
