Work History

Engineer Intern

Gemstar Manufacturing
Cannon Falls
05.2022 - Current
  • Used SolidWorks to design and develop numerous solutions and gained hands-on experience in fabricating the projects.
  • Produced detailed drawings in CAD software, showing assembly instructions and installation details
  • Completed cost-benefit analysis on proposed projects
  • Resolved production problems as they arose, working with operators and supervisors to identify, evaluate, and correct design problems
  • Researched, developed, and tested new materials within rotational molding, experimenting with various compositions and testing strength, toughness, and emissivity
  • Implemented custom storage solutions on the production floor to continue the company’s growth in Lean manufacturing
  • Gained hands-on experience with FANUC M2000 robots and custom end-of-arm-tooling.

Design Project

Plastics Materials and Processing, UW-Stout
Menomonie
09.2021 - 12.2021
  • Worked with a group to design and prototype a plastic product that could be injection molded
  • Designed a liposuction canister separator, which possessed specific properties that allowed it to withstand set parameters
  • Used SolidWorks to design the product
  • Carefully decided which polymers to use along with which additives to make the product perform best
  • Created an Excel spreadsheet and calculated the properties of the product such as tensile strength, melt temperature, etc
  • Presented the final design to the class along with holding a Q & A session.

Engineering Process Project

Impacts of Engineering, UW-Stout
Menomonie
09.2020 - 12.2020
  • Worked in a team of four to research and brainstorm solutions to help end the spread of COVID-19
  • Designed a prototype of a door handle sanitizer that sprays the antibacterial solution onto the handle after use
  • Developed a system using 12VDC power to run both an Arduino unit, a pump, and a motion detector
  • Tested prototype, noted issues with quality, refined, and reworked components to design an improved prototype
  • Presented prototype in front of the class, as well as answered in-depth questions from the professor about the apparatus
  • Created documentation of project details, and diagrams, along with potential product improvements.
