Project in NCKU

Mechanical Capstone Project – Robotic Object Retrieval & Line-Following Transport System

  • Designed and fabricated the robotic arm for a remote-controlled object retrieval robot, including mechanism geometry, motor selection, and component layout.
  • Use SolidWorks to create detailed 3D parts and assembly models, ensuring part fit, clearance, and manufacturability.
  • Performed structural stress and deformation analysis using ANSYS to validate load-bearing components for stability and safety.
  • Supported component procurement and hands-on fabrication using laser-cut acrylic parts as part of a five-member project team.

Project in Purdue

Senior Design Project – Smart Flow Control System for Cab–Trailer Gap Drag Reduction

  • Created wind tunnel testing CAD models for a tractor cab with three trailer configurations (standard, tanker, and flatbed).
  • Built CFD simulation models in ANSYS Fluent to evaluate baseline aerodynamic performance and assess fairing angle configurations prior to wind tunnel testing.
  • Utilized SolidWorks for detailed model development and supported experimental validation through participation in wind tunnel testing.
  • Collaborated in a five-member, English-taught design team and contributed to final prototype drawings and performance evaluation.
