I am a dedicated advocacy worker currently working at Safe Space I am extremely committed in doing all that I can in helping those dealing with domestic violence abuse. Maintaining their safety, mental and physical health, as well as their overall wellbeing while facilitating supportive trauma informed directed advocacy services. After learning of the Residential Advocate opening with Women In Distress, I am attaching my resume in consideration for this role. I also have the required DCF Core Competency training completed, along with currently being enrolled in school for my Associates degree in human services, advocating for domestic violence abuse is a career I want to pursue and continue my experience along with education. I have researched and learned a great deal about your organization's mission and I am confident that my background and attributes will bring further support of your company's values. I find I am able handle tense and difficult interpersonal situations and crisis situations with full empathy and professionalism, along with making sure I’m going out of my way with each individual case to find optimal resources and help. I am very passionate about helping those undergoing domestic violence abuse. I understand that this role is considered “essential” and with that I have no difficulty working holidays, weekends or any other times outside of my schedule that I may be asked to work.

I aim to always contribute a listening ear to all participants and knowledge of resources along with different strategies to help each participant and or hotline caller to their unique situation to the absolute best of my abilities.

I feel as though in my current role I succeed at multitasking and meeting the needs of all participants in shelter by facilitating individual support services, support groups, individual counseling, case management, proper timely documentation, transportation and those working in this field know not every day is black and white or routine. There has unfortunately been several crisis situations I’ve come across in working in this field, I provide crisis de-escalation, and develop safety plans individual for each case. I continue to want to further my experience and education working with Domestic violence victims. I plan on relocating to Pompano Beach area in October of this year.
