Kaitlyn Armstrong

One out of ten selected students to participate in the Kingsport Academy of Teaching program. My placement was in a 3rd grade Math and Science classroom. My duties included: Following curriculum instruction, lesson planning, and managing the classroom in the teacher's absence among other responsibilities as assigned.

This internship allowed me to stay with the same mentor teacher and classroom during the school year which let me build stronger relationships with students and faculty.

• Managed children's schedules effectively to ensure timely completion of homework, extracurricular activities, and daily routines.

• Provided homework assistance using specific curriculum and materials.

• Provided efficient and friendly customer service at the circulation desk.
• Cleaned and helped maintain personal study rooms.
• Organized books based on their classification system.
