Job Description

Supervisory Social Worker - Department of Health and Human Services: Indian Health Service

  • Provides services include but are not limited to: screening and assessment, diagnostic evaluation, crisis intervention, discharge planning, disposition consultation, cross-cultural interpretation/negotiation, suspected abuse and neglect coordination, referral and intervention services, brief psychotherapy (individual, family, and group) as related to facilitating appropriate medical care, end-of-life support, family support and interventions, consultation/liaison/referral activities with other related service providers both within and outside assigned unit.
  • Provides support and evaluation of tribal, Indian Health Service, and Department of Behavioral Health Services programs consistent with Joint Commission Standards, Indian Health Service manual, and Navajo Nation.
  • Maintains positive relationships with community resources, Navajo Area Indian Health Service, Indian Health Service Headquarters, and other state and tribal programs keeping abreast of information pertinent to the organization
