Door Dash was something I took upon myself to have a nice flexible way to make money.
This job includes being punctual and clean. Driving to and from restaurants to clients location to deliver food. There isn't much more to it than that.
It offers nice flexibility as you can dash whenever you want to, so long as there is availability in your area.
I worked at Safelite AutoGlass for 7 years. For the first 5, I worked as a certified windshield repair specialist.
To do this job, I drove daily to different locations and consulted with up to 8 clients a day. I then made sure the conditions were right, and repaired any damage on the customer's windshield deemed repairable.
I took pictures of pre-existing damage on the vehicles and protected it from any further damages while working on it.
Once the repair was done I made sure I had everything updated in the work order on the phone, then I printed the customer's receipt. Once the receipt was printed, I explained how the warranty worked.
We then exchanged thanks, and I moved on to my next customer.
Each client was greeted hours ahead of time with an estimated time of arrival. With this job it was my responsibility to remain punctual and informative throughout the whole process.
I then took a lateral position into the local office as a customer service advocate.
With my office job at Safelite, I set up many work orders for clients and also called them to make sure their appointment time, vehicle information, and insurance information was correct. I also was tasked with setting up claims with insurance companies before any work was done to the vehicles. I took many phone calls to assist in any questions that our clients had.
My job there ended during the pandemic, they had to let many of us go due to the decreasing demand for public services. I did however love my time there. It was a good place to work.
