As an HR Assistant, I supported daily human resources operations by assisting with employee records, onboarding processes, and administrative tasks. My responsibilities included maintaining accurate and confidential employee files, coordinating interviews, and helping facilitate new hire orientation. • As a Medical Assistant, I gained valuable hands-on experience in a clinical setting, where I supported both patients and healthcare providers. My responsibilities included taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, updating medical records, and assisting with minor procedures. I also helped manage front office duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and maintaining a clean, organized environment. This role strengthened my communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. It also deepened my passion for patient care and affirmed my interest in pursuing a career in the medical field.

• As an anesthesia tech at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN, I was responsible for managing and replacing essential anesthesia equipment, such as needles, Mac blades, laryngeal mask airways (LMAs), epidural kits, and endotracheal (ET) tubes. I also conducted routine checks and maintenance on anesthesia machines between cases, and replaced masks, suction devices, and bags as needed. Additionally, I supported anesthesiologists during nerve blocks by preparing and drawing up medications, gathering supplies, and assisting with the procedure. I coordinated with the anesthesiologist to be present in the appropriate room or floor. While they controlled the ultrasound machine and the needle to locate the nerve, I handed them the necessary supplies and administered the medications.

• As an EMT at HEMSI, I provided comprehensive care to patients on the ambulance, including monitoring vital signs, administering wound care, performing suction, controlling bleeding etc. My responsibilities also included communicating effectively with other healthcare professionals and ensuring the safe and timely transport of patients to medical facilities. I hold a valid EMT license, which supports my ability to deliver high-quality emergency medical services and respond effectively to a variety of critical situations.

• To learn more about pursuing a career as a psychiatric doctor, the psychiatrist I worked with at Shoals Hospital connected me with a colleague at North Alabama Medical Center to begin shadowing. During this time, I had the opportunity to observe and follow various anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists, gaining valuable insights into the field of anesthesia and its procedures. This hands-on experience allowed me to deepen my understanding of anesthesia practices and the critical roles these professionals play in patient care. • As a Psych Tech, my role involved providing direct care and support to individuals with mental health disorders and behavioral issues. I assisted in monitoring patients' mental and emotional states, implementing treatment plans, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. My responsibilities included conducting therapeutic activities, managing and documenting patient behavior, and assisting with daily living tasks. I also helped with observing and reporting any changes in patient's conditions and collaborating with mental health professionals to adjust treatment plans as needed. Additionally, I provided crisis intervention, supported patients through therapeutic sessions, and maintained a compassionate and respectful approach to all interactions. My role was crucial in supporting patients' overall well-being and contributing to their recovery process in a clinical or residential setting.
