At the Everett Animal Shelter I deal with 100+ pound dogs who have a tendency to be reactive or aggressive, I have worked with Animal Controle Officers on how to properly handle reactive dogs without injury to a person or dog. I work with cats, dogs, outdoor animals and small rodents such as rats, rabbits, birds and guinea pigs. I have gained an incredible amount of animal handling experience as I first hand do intake with animals which essentially is the first vaccinations, wormer and rabies shot. This job has taught me how to be very quick on my feet, have great time management skills, how to deal with aggressive or reactive animals and to no panic in stressful situations animals can out you in. I came in contact with customers on the daily regarding animal visits or fostering inquiries on certain animals, this wasn’t mainly a customer service job but I believe I helped many people as well as animals!

I handler up to 40 dogs in a doggy daycare play room, I haven broken up dog fights, assisted with grooming and training and had some receptionist responsibilities. This job taught me how to always have my eye on every animal in the room and to have fast reflexes to avoid any scuffle.

At Cozy Cat I took care of upwards of 30-40 cats per day by cleaning, feeding and grooming each cat while administering medications such at gabapentin or insulin to diabetic cats. I have had to help cats with asthma by assisting with inhalers and doing it on my own. Another skill Cozy Cat gave me was customer service, I answered phone called on the daily which lead to making grooming appointment, boarding appointment and answering general questions related to the facility. This job gave me tons of feral and general cat experience especially in the groom and medication aspect.
