I am a Sophomore at IU with admission into Kelley, and at this moment pursuing a marketing degree, however that is still subject to change to a different business degree. The past 2 years I've coached youth soccer which gave me an excellent opportunity to lead a group of young men by developing their skills, learn how to manage and motivate different types of personalities, and balance having fun while also staying focused on winning games. All these skills can translate to a leadership position in marketing like managing a sales team. Dealing with in house fights and motivating different types of people is a necessity as a sales manager, and I can do that. My father is a sales manager which gave me an insight into the daily life of sales reps and managers growing up. I learned from this that problem solving and meeting the bottom line is essential in being successful. Being accountable for any company requires a person to be a leader, work well with others, and maintain focus on the task at hand. I can offer those skills to your organization. I hope you’ll consider me for the position!
Was the director of the youth sports group, had to create a schedule for each day, manage other employees, manage and resolve child conflicts, and would be responsible for contacting the parents with any incidents.
Completed internship with Indiana PrimeTime Sports to successfully earn a paying job
• Experience: Learned that listening rather than trying to be arrogant and assert yourself is very important in learning how an organization operates and to climb the ranks. It’s always important to be humble, and an internship experience is a great opportunity to learn and develop new skills. Ultimately leading in getting the job after the completion of the summer internship.
• 35 hours a week, 8 weeks a summer. Number of kids are averagely around 80-100 per week. Lead and managed games/activities with groups of 20+ kids.
• Problem solving opportunities and personality development. Combining kids and sports leads to lots of emotion and tension. This requires tremendous patience and understanding each individual personality you are addressing in order to resolve a conflict between kids or the game appropriately.
Volunteered as a Youth Soccer Head Coach for 2 seasons by adapting to the needs of each kid to help develop the youth and give back to the community
• Lead 3rd & 4th grade boys soccer during the 2021 and 2022 spring seasons to back to back first place regular season finishes.
• Gained team management experience by managing 11+ players each season, communicating with parents, organizing practices, and coaching the games in front of the pressure of an audience.
• Learned that some of the kid’s personalities needed some harsher motivation and sitting out to motivate them to want to focus and get better at soccer. While other boys didn’t get motivated by a stricter tone, and instead needed a gentle push to get motivated to focus. This helped to develop the skill of managing different personalities.
