I am currently working as an Inbound Dock Associate with a variety of responsibilities supporting receiving operations from decanting incoming freight, problem-solving to resolve inventory and workflow issues, I always strive to maintain a clean and safe work environment and keep work areas organized. I also process customer returns and audit SAP pallets for pallet decant and RSR to ensure they meet department quality and operational standards. I regularly supported team members to maintain productivity.
At LAS7 I was the inbound dock receive clerk where I learned to work in a fast-paced fulfillment center especially during peak, I helped ensure freight like our reactive trailers were unloaded and dispatched to the floors before their due time to be stowed. I collaborated with leadership to plan daily workloads, meet productivity goals, and maintain an accurate flow of work throughout each shift. I also assisted with coordinating trailer assignments, monitored freight quality, and communicated with both on-site and off-site teams to resolve issues in regards to freight that did not belong at LAS7 and/or could be redirected to a site meant for the specific freight in the trailers to maintain the yard health. I supported associates by answering questions and helping maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work environment.
During this time in my tier 3 journey at amazon I worked at LAS9, a fulfillment center that sold t-shirts. In my role here I assisted with customer t-shirt orders to ensure shipments met Critical Process Time (CPT) deadlines and were prepared on-time for when the loads were set to be picked up. I then coordinated the shipments headed outbound by verifying all orders were in the loads, overseeing the trailer loading, and ensuring drivers followed proper safety procedures during their time inside the warehouse packing up there shipment. I reviewed and signed BOLs to verify shipment accuracy and maintain shipping documentation. One other responsibility I had at the Inbound dock clerk at LAS9 was receiving, marking, counting and organizing inventory of t-shirts. When I was not clerking , I always made sure to be a helping hand on the production floor
by assisting anywhere that was needed from picking t-shirts for printers, folding t-shirts, printing t-shirts, drying and or packing them at the SLAM stations.
I started my Tier 3 (Supervisor Position) journey in the Customer Returns (CRETS) department running lanes, where Managed 36 to 54 associates during my shift. It was my job to coach the associates to make sure they are processing the returns at our standard rate which is 42, Seeking an understanding of why an associate might not be at our standard rate and giving them encouragement, quarterly goals and removing barriers to the best of my abilities to help them reach the 42 rate. I provided associates with necessary supplies and answered their questions. Being able to engage with associates taught me how to approach different types of situations, be sure that I am available at all times and be able to expand my knowledge about the process so I can educate associates when they have any questions. Shortly after I ran lanes in CRETS, about two-three months later I got moved to the Inbound Dock, While in my time in the Inbound dock I became very familiar with Rome, a system that gages what work we need to do to better benefit the company finance wise along with anything that is required to run shift up to and above standards. Managed consistent workflow in the inbound dock, engaging with associates to ensure safety and access to required tools and support. Lastly, I had the privilege of going through my first peak, the busiest time of the year
as a process assistant in the inbound dock and I was able to expand on my communication, multitasking, and critical thinking skills.
Gained understanding of various functions in role. The first thing I learned how to do was processing the customer returns using the T-REX system. In September of 2021 I got Indirect trained (waterspider, mezz, transportation, decant, unload). Began working in Inbound operations. dock and was given the privilege of being dock support trained (building bulky pallets, assisting decanter and unloader when needed, bringing any necessary supplies needed to complete work in my area of the dock, keeping my area clean and clear of any safety violations). Aside from those functions I also got TDR ( Trailer and Dock Released) training on February 17,2022. On February 18,2022 I got training to be a learning ambassador. On March 31, 2022 I obtained knowledge of the new GTDR system (Global Trailer and dock release).
While being employed with McDonald's I would take customers' orders for the drive thru, present at the front window (this is the term we used when handing out customer orders), I made drinks, ice creams and french fries when taking orders in the front drive thru. I worked the graveyard shift so when it was just our closing staff on the floor I would run in the front meaning I'd take orders, make the orders, sometimes I'd package them and then hand out the food. I was also responsible for taking cash and orders if I was closing in the back but the majority of the time I closed in the front and took on the responsibilities stated above as well as cleaning the store and stocking the store with the materials needed so the morning shift was prepared for opening. My multitasking abilities, customer service skills, communication capability and self-discipline were all things that I obtained growth on while being an employee here. I was also very flexible; while working here I was asked on multiple occasions to come in on my day off or come in 1-2 hours earlier than my start of shift in which i did.
