Passionate Registered Nurse looking to advance my personal and medical experience by helping patients seeking care in all stages of life. Having experience working as a labor and delivery registered nurse for the last year on a high risk, fast paced labor and delivery unit I have gained experience and knowledge in obstetric emergent situations, prioritizing patient care, understanding patient needs and much more. I look forward to continuing to learn from my patients and helping them through their medical needs no matter the circumstance or stage of life.
My role as a staff RN includes handing patient care on the labor and delivery unit through assessing status of patient, and baby through use of an electronic fetal monitor, and basic nursing care. Assisting patient through the process of labor and care of mother and infant through and post delivery. Modes of delivery include vaginal delivery and cesarean delivery. St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas is a fast paced, high risk labor and delivery unit and averages around 900 deliveries a month.
My role included working with patients and staff RN on the labor and delivery unit; managing registration check in, creating charts for the unit, handling and facilitating patient records through the use of an EMR system, tending to patient rooms and keeping record of stocked supplies, assisting the staff RN as necessary, and handling patient care where applicable.
