- In Puerto Rico, the other volunteers and I worked tirelessly to help the community rebuild after the effects of Hurricane Maria and Tropical Storm Laura. We helped a food pantry company, 'Paraiso en la Montaña', clean out their shelves of old and unusable food and restock their pantries with new food. We lessened the amount of toxic plastics and potentially dangerous beer bottles and shards of glass on the beaches. While at the beach, we also cleared out a way for leatherback turtle hatchlings, an endangered species, to find their way to the ocean.
