Accomplishments

Reduce Field failures for metals & alloys used within Lii

·Developed new standards for aluminized/carbon steel for Hearth based on Lii’s fireplace performance.

·Characterized Hearth paint failures. Implemented new paint & materials to substantially reduce failure rates. The paint adhesion appears to have improved significantly.

Cost Reduction Secondary Heat Exchanger (Current Design)

·Qualified 0.012” wall for secondary Heat exchanger to replace 0.015” wall stainless.

·Alternate alloys have been identified for replacement.

New Paint Development (Paragon)

·Constructed 6 solar/corrosion panel for atmospheric corrosion/UV evaluation (residential). Results will guide to ensure paint formance will meet our requirements.

Cost Reduction & Solve company wide Issues and to improve profitability

·Lead CFI Materials to support lubricant, paint and copper projects. Consequences shall mitigate formicary corrosion, paint peeling/corrosion issues and reduce warranty returns.

·Performed failure analysis and consulting for 5 Lii businesses to Support various product design development & reduce failures.

·Provide technical support to defend legal matters against Lii.

·Qualify Hydro as an alternate aluminum supplier for Microchannel

·Determine corrosion performance of all aluminum coils for commercial refrigeration.

·Characterize the Effect of corrosive food on all-Al coil performance.

·Develop common aluminum fin stock and fin press lubricants standards.
