• Maintains institutional security, discipline and order.
• Escorts visitors to and from appropriate security units.
• Monitors entrances and exits of institution with the exception of main gatehouse. Insures visitors, contractors and vendors enter and exit institution safely.
• Trains and provides routine care for K-9 including feeding, grooming, kennel maintenance and maintains supply inventory and equipment.
• Maintains logs and prepares reports.
• Assists other security sections within institution during riots, shakedowns, crowd control, drug searches, inmate movement, apprehension of escapees, and other activities as needed.

• Analyzed data to assess performance of different statements, posts and campaigns.
• Wrote speeches, press releases, media responses and public service announcements.
• Produced and distributed videos and other content for digital use.

• A correctional emergency response team (abbreviated CERT or CRT) is a team of specially trained prison officers tasked with responding to disturbances, riots, cell extractions, mass searches, and other situations in prisons that are likely to involve uncooperative or violent prisoners.
• Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) develops and implements security programs for institutions based on facility needs. CERT trains and develops selected groups of staff to perform advanced, high-risk or community operations. CERT acts as technical advisors to Wardens and provides tactical responses during emergency situations. CERT also assists with escapee/erroneous release operations.

• Verified all prison visitors carried proper identification and had no contraband before entering institution.
• Supervised dining hall, outdoor recreation area, vocational shop, and inmate housing unit.
• Checked all book in and discharges, making sure all charges have paperwork and all discharges have orders of discharge.
• Oversaw control center, monitoring inmates, visitors, and employees for signs of suspicious behavior.
