Work Include:

• Mainland Elderly Care homes
• Mainland supported housing (combines housing with support services for vulnerable people - both adults and young adults)

Responsibilities:

• Day-to-Day operations within the care setting, including recruiting and managing staff, managing budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets national care standards.
• Responsible for meeting national minimum standards of care issued by relevant bodies.
• Ensure the delivery of quality, person-centered care
• Manage budgets
• Recruit and supervise staff
• Chair meetings and deliver training
• Take on a visible leadership role
• Maintain quality standards and ensure health and safety compliance
• liaise with and maintain partnerships with other local community organizations
• Ensure any regulatory activity, such as personal care and administering medicines, is delivered within regulations
• Provide information, advice and support to residents' families
• Organize activities for residents and actively promote their independence.

Mainland Children Care

• safeguard and promote the welfare of the children
• ensure the quality of care provided is consistent with current legislation
• liaise with local authorities as well as health and other professionals working with the children
• manage child protection concerns and complaints
• contribute to care planning, statutory case reviews and case conferences
• Support children's emotional and behavioral needs
• Weekly Inspections for maintaining of standards
• Assess new referrals and carry out inductions.
• Assisted clients with daily living needs to maintain self-esteem and general wellness.

Responsibilities:

• Personal Care: Assist with personal hygiene, washing assistance etc
• Support with eating and drinking: Ensuring that clients are encouraged to eat a healthy, balanced diet and the correct quantities, prepared meals look appetizing and make sure the way they eat is appropriate for the client
• Assisting with shopping: This is completed on the client’s request and a finance form must be completed with a receipt.
• Assist with mobility: Use of a hoist or other aides, or assistance in standing and movement. Dressing or assisting with any physical activity whereby the clients needs support.
• Domestic duties: Cleaning, emptying bins, washing where requested
• Record keeping: MAR chart (for medication), log book (recording each visit to communicate to the next carer), care plan updates.
• Assist with medication: completing the MAR chart (Medical Administration Record) the administration of medication as outlined in the care plan and with customer consent
• Promote independence: To allow the client to do as much as they can for themselves and only offer support where they need it
• Safeguarding: Protect the client from significant harm, abuse or neglect.
• Respect dignity
• Ensure care delivered is person centred
• Give companionship: Simply talking and listening to the client and understanding their like and dislikes and encourage stimulating activities
• Promoting health: Infection prevention, understanding illnesses and supporting with emergency first aid where necessary
• Conducting calls: On average each call is 15 minutes, depending on the client, this time is precious and it is important that this time is used effectively. Where time constraints are affecting the quality of care for the client, the branch must be made aware so that adjustments can be made.
• Ran errands for patients, did shopping and picked up other necessities.
• Monitored and maintained cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas.
• Monitored and assisted residents through individual service plans.
• Shopped for groceries regularly in order to keep house stocked with necessities.
