As an On Highway Product Controls Engineer, I configure(tune), integrate, test and release software, electronic control units, tools, sensors, actuators, and harnesses into an electronic system that controls the operations of company products in a variety of user applications. I investigate electronic application and system problems, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution, and document results. I apply and support the improvement of electronic application and systems development processes and tools including system specification, modeling and simulation, calibration, Simulink and PTC Integrity. In addition, I obtain input and negotiate with product and software development teams and deliver control system designs, verified and calibrated software features and build to product teams. I make decisions in the areas of electronic system design, requirements, calibration and test that impact the quality and performance of individual calibrated features and components. I coordinate the development of design verification and system validation plans from a variety of inputs to identify failure modes while managing risk and relative priority. Additionally, I use appropriate methods and tools to translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements to which electrical and electronic designs re developed. I track the status of requirements throughout the electronic system lifecycle, and assess the impact of changes to system requirements on project scope, schedule, and resources. Lastly, I analyze technical issues using proven problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques for rapid resolution.
