  • I started out as Charge Nurse in a long term care facility. Within a few months, I was promoted to Unit Manager.
  • After several years of being the Unit Manager, I was promoted to the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON).
  • While I was the ADON, I obtained my certification with the American Heart Association to become a BLS/Heartsaver, First Aid CPR instructor. I did this to ensure that the staff in the long term care facility were adequately equipped for emergencies.
  • After several years of being the ADON, I was promoted to Director of Nursing (DON). I worked with all departments within the facility to ensure excellent care was being provided to our residents. This included helping in almost all departments. Working with other department managers, we had a deficiency-free survey in 2012-13!
  • In 2013, I transferred from the Swanton location to the Mooresville, NC, facility due to moving to SC to be closer to my family.
  • From 2013 to 2016, I worked at Genesis Healthcare in Mooresville, NC, as the Nurse Practice Educator. I helped provide nursing care to our residents, maintained vaccine records, and provided CPR to the staff.
