  • Investigate protective custody and provide social service intervention for children involved in neglect and abuse cases in accordance with the rules and regulations for the Wyoming Department of Family Services. Utilize motivational interview techniques with clients to assess their needs, safety and well-being and make referral to community resources or other agency personnel. Participate in shelter care hearings, family partnership meetings, and prepare testimony for additional legal proceedings. Schedule and attend forensic interviews. Coordinate with Safe Harbor and actively participate in child protection team meetings to identify and develop community resources to serve abused and neglected children. Participated in the development of the annual child protection team plan and presented it to community partners. Investigate and assess needs for vulnerable adults to ensure safety and basic needs are being met. In coordination with community partners make referrals for needed services. Attend monthly adult protection services meeting. Arrange for community partners to present at the meetings. In the past, I have assisted and developed the annual adult protection team plan and presented it to community partners. During child and adult investigations, I work with local law enforcement and the district attorney's office staff to ensure the client’s basic needs, safety and well-being continues to be met. In the past, I have also worked special investigation cases for the department. I represent the department at Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) meetings hosted by the Cheyenne police department. Educate community partners about the department and work collaboratively to identify and fill gaps in community services. I also represent the department at the Laramie County Community Partnership monthly meetings. Starting in 2021, I was asked to represent the department at the Laramie County Suicide Fatality Review quarterly meetings. During this meeting, the committee discusses recent and past suicide cases that have occurred in Laramie County to determine gap in services.
