Conducts intensive interviews to determine eligibility for cash, medical, and/or food
benefits.
Responsible for interviewing, reviewing documents, and assisting with financial processes.
Receives and responds to different types of inquiries including financial and food benefit
applications and reviews, information and referral requests, general questions, case
specific questions and change of circumstance notifications.
Answers all questions regarding benefits or available services. Explains available
services, program requirements, application procedures, and verification needs. Refers
clients to both mandatory and optional services and to other agencies as required.
Assesses emergent and special needs and makes referrals to other programs and
community resources as appropriate. If unable to answer question(s), refers the client to a
source that can provide needed information.
Determines eligibility and delivers services to qualified individuals. Determines eligibility for
expedited services. Works within time frames and deadlines, which are dictated by
program requirements.
Obtains and reviews necessary data, documentation and verification for Federal or State
assistance as it relates to the individual’s specific circumstance. Attempts to verify
reported changes via phone contact to the appropriate party i.e. landlord, employer, etc.
Processes all case actions in accordance with Federal and State processing and accuracy
requirements. Authorizes necessary warrants, medical services, food benefits and
electronic benefits cards.
Analyzes oral and written information to determine accurate benefits and continued
program eligibility. Enters all cases actions into the appropriate computer programs
(ACES, ACES Online, Barcode, e-Jas, ICMS).
Assists customers with the process of applying for Apple Healthcare by entering
information into the Health Plan Finder (HPF) system on behalf of the clients.
I helped our patients apply and renew benefits under Both Oregon and Washington's systems (Wa Health Plan Finder, Oregon One/Healthcare.gov) for those that don't qualify for any of the programs offered through the Affordable care act system I help them apply for the clinics sliding fee scale, I was responsible to separate accounts, adjust accounts with billing information and sliding fee scale, set up payment plans, Data entry. I was also cross trained in reception which required me to obtain demographics for patients checking in for their doctor's appointment , schedule and cancel appointment's, complete registration paperwork, answer and route phone calls within the clinic.
