Karim Ayoub

• The program's main goal was to address problems that astronauts face on the surface of the moon. My team's job was to develop the wheel which should sustain the similar environment that is on the moon’s surface. When it came to wheel design we did not consider aesthetics at all, but rather our main concern was to design a long-lasting wheel, that should be able to withstand low gravity, extreme temperature, and abrasive dust.

• My mentor and I focused on improving the workforce and education among high school and college students. A specific part of our plan was to promote carbon fiber manufacturing into workforces that might need it, like the military and technical workforce, such as welding. Helping college students about to join technical industries, and our purpose for high school students was to show them how carbon fiber is made. While demonstrating it to them, the various uses of carbon fiber, we attempted to supply them for future job markets within industries that incorporate the material.

• I worked as a teacher aide at Western Suffolk BOCES, helping students with schoolwork, activities, and daily routines. I supported the teacher in the classroom, worked one-on-one with students who needed extra help, and joined in fun projects and games. My goal was to make sure every student felt included, supported, and encouraged to do their best.

- Led youth in a Boy Scouts-style program, teaching discipline, teamwork, and goal-setting.
- Taught middle school Sunday School classes and Bible lessons.
- Served as camp counselor, organizing educational and recreational activities.
- Participated in mission trips to Egypt, helping construct homes for families in need.

• I am a swimming instructor and swimmer myself. I train people of all ages, from babies to children, adults, learners with developmental difficulties, and those looking to become good swimmers. It involved making lesson plans to suit each learner and gradually building their confidence in the water. Which teaches me how to adapt to different situations, which is valuable in the field of engineering.

• I attend the Egyptian American Film Festival as a participant where I interview stars on the red carpet, present awards and introduce segments of the show.
