Cover Letter

I am excited to be applying for the role of Nurse Coordinator for the UCSF Department of Radiation Oncology. My experience working with radiology patients here at UCSF for the past 5 years where over the past 2 years I have been an integral member of the team that facilitates the care of our pediatric and adult populations. This includes monitoring our listserv which is how our providers communicate their requests and information, optimizing our schedule for all of our pediatric patients undergoing anesthesia for their radiology studies and educating our patients on their upcoming appointments and procedures through MyChart messages and phone calls.I believe my qualifications and along with my passion to continue to learn and grow make me an ideal candidate for this job. I have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and 25 years of clinical experience in a wide variety of roles both in the hospital setting and in the outpatient setting. Prior to working at UCSF, I spent 18 years as an Emergency Room nurse where I interacted effectively with our physicians. I am an extremely organized, calm and patient professional with excellent communication skills. In my present role as a Staff Nurse in Radiology at UCSF, I have had the opportunity to care for the variety of the patients that are shared with Radiation Oncology. During this time I have been recognized for my dedication, ambition and as a reliable member of the team.In addition to my skills that I would bring to the position, my ability to be flexible with the hours I am available for patient phone calls would be an asset as not everyone is available in the 9 to 5 window.I believe that my ability to be flexible along with my desire to learn and grow within this new position as a Nurse Coordinator makes me an ideal candidate. I look forward to discussing my skills further during an interview. Please find a detailed account of my work history in the attached resume.
