JFK has Annual emergency room visits of approximately 80,000 of mixed populations. An average of 35% admissions. The ED is staffed by approximately 90 FTEs of RNs, Techs, EMTs, Paramedics, Nurse Externs and LPNs. The ED is 78 rooms. Reports directly to the ED Director of Emergency Services.

• Lead daily operations of a high-volume Emergency Department, overseeing nursing staff and patient care delivery
• Manage staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and performance evaluations for RN and support staff
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and state regulations
• Monitor patient flow, bed utilization, and throughput to reduce wait times and improve patient satisfaction
• Serve as clinical and administrative resource
• Collaborate with physicians, executive leadership, EMS, and ancillary departments
• Analyze quality metrics, incident reports, and patient outcomes to drive performance improvement initiatives
• Support staff education, competency validation, and professional development

• Delivered rapid, high-quality care to critically ill and injured patients in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Performed ESI triage and initiated emergency protocols for cardiac, stroke, trauma, and sepsis cases
• Administered medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency interventions
• Directed patient care by initiating and following through with plan of care, continuing care, and discharge instructions.
