Completing a Masters in Psychology at Pepperdine University, Karina is pivoting to align with her social justice values. Formerly, she has been a visionary director and producer focused on delivering exceptional media content with expertise in communicating complex ideas, prioritizing storytelling, and managing scope and timelines. After years collaborating with clients, crew, editors, designers, marketers, and social media managers: she is excellent at both productive listening and creative problem-solving. Her role as a mother, her role as the first Count the Kicks Ambassador - founding a volunteer role in the most influential stillbirth prevention and birth equity organization in the country, and her extensive travel make her open-minded, adaptive and deeply committed to positive change.

Karina was the first Count the Kicks Ambassador, founding the role in 2011. Most recently, Karina made two trips Washington D.C. to help lobby for the very first stillbirth prevention legislation, the Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act, which was signed into law in 2024. Count the Kicks is a public health campaign that teaches mothers to track their babies' movements in the third trimester to help prevent stillbirth. Karina works in honor of her son, Milan, who was born still Sept. 7th, 2011. Karina directed a national commercial that, during the 6-month tracking period, generated more than 284 million viewer impressions and was aired by 128 TV stations across the country. The PSA was ranked 56 out of 1,324 TV PSA campaigns that Nielsen monitored in the month of July 2016, putting it in the top 4.2%., In 2021, the 30 second spot was put of air in state of Florida with in partnership with the Florida Department of Health. Karina has produced and directed many videos for Count the Kicks, creating content that stands the test of time and delivers results; raising funds, raising awareness and saving lives.
