Work History

Lead Engineering Technologist – Distribution Engineering Buena Vista

  • Lead and support a team 12 engineering designers and project coordinators for both operating centers Southeast Orlando and Buena Vista. Then transitioned to team of 6 for the Buena Vista operation center.
  • Supervised a team of six Designers and an EDA, providing continuous training, technical guidance, and support, as well as conducting quality reviews to maintain customer and Duke Energy standards.
  • Served as interim OAS Manager for the Buena Vista Operating Center, participating in leadership meeting with Operating Center Director to discuss Operational goals and directives. Review both the capital and O&M budget to ensure adherence to targets and cost control. Conducted safety evaluations for engineering staff during field visits and driving assessment.
  • Reviewed data management, CIAC in arrears, and customer call back reports to ensure the team met corporate task goals.
  • Managed projects of designers that have transitioned to other jobs, ensuring completion and adherence to construction standards. Also assisted Residential Development Team of their time in need in taking on a subdivision project from start to finish.
  • Acted as a backup for AOS Manger in their absence, maintaining operational continuity and workflow efficiency.
  • Conducted interviews for department positions, evaluating candidates, and participated on interview panels for entry-level construction line workers.
  • I had an opportunity to fill in for the Regional Damage Assessment Lead for Hurricane Milton where I lead the South-Central Damage Assessment leads for 6 operating centers.
  • Developed cost estimating spreadsheets to effectively estimate overall costs.

Sr. Engineering Technologist – Distribution Engineering Buena Vista

  • Main responsibility to provide technical expertise and provide strong leadership skills to my supporting team.
  • Manage and design for high complexity jobs for the Buena Vista operation center to oversee and manage at time from 2 to 4 TA areas.
  • Train and provide guidance to a group of 6 peers within my group to ensure that they have the skills and support they need to take on their roles.
  • Project Managed all my designs to ensure that each project is to Duke Energy standards and ensuring that we provide the final constructed product to the customer.
  • I interact with other supporting Departments such as the Customer Delivery Construction, Customer Delivery Resources, and Large Account Management.
  • Support and back up my other Sr. Engineering Technologist as well for coverage for the Southeast Orlando Office.

Engineering Technologist III – Central Delivery Lighting Program

  • Main responsibility to provide lighting designs for both the Residential and Commercial Sector at two of Central Zone operating centers.
  • My other role is to obtain small sales of lighting jobs from our residential and commercial sector as well.
  • Provide lighting design layout that met all qualifications to meet that of the Governmental or City lighting ordinances.
  • Project Managed all my designs to ensure that each project is to Duke Energy standards and ensuring that we provide the final constructed product to the customer.
  • I interact with various department within the Duke Organizations from the Business Development Management, Construction, and Customer Delivery Engineering.
  • Supporting back up to our Sr. Engineering Technologist when they are unavailable to our Lighting Group team.
  • Stand in for my Manager in the Central Zone Operating Committee conference calls that occur on a weekly basis to speak on behalf of the Lighting Design Group in the Central Regions.
