  • Served in the role of acting principal at Shining Stars Preschool from January 25, 2023 to February 15, 2023
  • Work with State Department of New Mexico's Early Childhood Department to ensure that Shining Stars Preschool is meeting all of the requirements set forth by the state of NM. This includes reporting schoolwide data, completing compliance documents throughout the year to show the implementation of PreK requirements, helping to manage the ongoing communication between RRPS, ECECD, and SSPS, and working collaboratively with the principal Kim Johns to create a process within our school that addresses the requirements set forth by the State of New Mexico Early Childhood Department.
  • Work collaboratively with Child Find to identify the needs of students and find the most appropriate placement based on the individual needs of students.
  • Completion of yearly evaluations for teachers and staff within the Canvas Teacher Evaluation Platform. This includes formal evaluations, walkthroughs, and providing authentic and purposeful feedback to teachers and staff
  • Work collaboratively with RRPS Food Services to improve the snack process for the students at SSPS, and to ensure that students are receiving the appropriate snack based on their specific health needs and allergies.
  • Responsible for providing school wide discipline to 3Y and 4Y students at SSPS. This includes being a member of the Star Team which frequently responds to kids in crisis and help support teachers with whatever they may need to ensure the safety of the student, teacher, and classmates.
  • Responsible for the implementation of safety procedures throughout the school. Duties include running schoolwide safety drills running schoolwide safety drills throughout the year, and making sure that safety supplies throughout the school are updated, replenished, and in good working order.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders through the use of weekly memos to communicate with staff and monthly newsletters to communicate with families.
  • Meet in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) biweekly with staff to facilitate discussions with staff around the Social and Emotional well being of students, and strategies to help students and get ready to learn.
  • Meet with Instructional Coach and teachers biweekly to review schoolwide data and plan for interventions and instruction.
  • Bus duty in the AM and PM
