Senior Capstone Practicum
Intensive Care Unit
- I worked under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit for my Senior Capstone Practicum. I provided care to patients with various disease processes including heart and respiratory failure, chronic kidney disease, sepsis, and strokes.
- I had the opportunity to provide tracheostomy and ventilator care, administer medications through PICC lines, perform urinary catheter insertions, remove sutures, perform Swan-Ganz catheter care, start peripheral IV's, and remove orogastric tubes.
