Successful Account Director with experience encouraging client communication and collaboration to achieve objectives and growth using proven business development strategies.
Account Leadership
● Develop and ensure the Account team meets annual agency and department goals by tracking and reporting progress on a quarterly basis.
● Represent the Account team and contribute to Leadership initiatives.
● Identify untapped opportunities to evolve and promote the success of the agency.
● Assist in shaping the structure, processes, workflow and principles of the agency alongside the Managing Director.
● Exercise excellent judgment when it comes to departmental leadership initiatives, while maintaining a sense of urgency and adeptly managing changing priorities.
● Actively communicate with the Managing Director regarding the Account team’s successes, opportunities and areas for improvement.
● Participate in Interact's recruiting and hiring efforts in partnership with the HR and Recruiting Manager.
● Manage Account team bandwidth and plan annual hiring needs with the Managing Director.
Client Relations
● Develop and maintain successful relationships with key clients by positioning yourself as a partner for clients and advocate for the agency.
● Lead Tier 1 projects by facilitating key conversations, guiding clients through our process and building the client relationship.
● Immerse yourself in clients’ brand, business, category, organizational dynamics and challenges.
● Stay up to date and share relevant category and cultural trends pertaining to the food & beverage industry, branding, design, innovations, and sustainability.
● Educate, set, and enforce boundaries where appropriate to create a healthy working relationship.
● Monitor projects for delays and scope creep and issue change orders or take other appropriate action as needed. TBD collab with Creative Services Manager
● Properly document all client communications and approvals.
● Drive additional revenue by identifying opportunities to unlock incremental workstreams for existing clients.
Account Team Management & Development
● Lead the Account team, promoting best practices, best-in-class client management and ongoing improvement of our processes and workflows.
● Serve as the direct manager to select Account Supervisors / Account Managers / Account Coordinators.
● Provide oversight and mentorship and support to the Account Team.
● Keep a pulse on agency bandwidth to understand the team’s capacity to inform resourcing for incoming new business and continued work with recurring clients.
● Work closely and cooperatively with the Creative Services Manager and Managing Director to coordinate project resourcing, budgets and timelines.
● Conduct annual reviews of the Account Team and work closely with the Managing Director to promote, hire and shape the Account Team in a way that maximizes successful output.
● Delegate tasks in a clear and concise manner to the relevant support team members.
● Keep all projects on track and ensure work proceeds according to timeline and budget.
● Have excellent communication skills to keep everyone up-to-speed and informed.
● Be a mitigator to resolve any Account Team or client issues as they arise in a timely manner.
● Lead Team Huddle meetings, encourage sharing of best practices and streamlined processes
● Share thought-leadership and relevant articles to keep a finger on the pulse of our industry.
● Provide growth opportunities for the team and encourage ongoing education.
Champion Account Team’s Role in the Creative Process
● Work directly with Creative & Strategic leads to guide the creation of concepts and deliverables that meet clients’ objectives. Contribute ideas & strategic thinking, actively manage research, strategy and creative initiatives.
● Thoroughly understand the client’s brief, key objectives, guardrails to take ownership of deliverables, sharing them with the client in a timely manner.
● Drive highest possible quality control in all agency services and deliverables.
● Ensure thorough proofreading is being conducted for presentations, mechanical files, etc. on an ongoing basis or delegate to Account Supervisor, Account Manager / Coordinator as necessary.
● Have a positive, professional collaborative, “can do” attitude with external clients & internal team.
● Effectively and independently manage time and workload.
● Lead meetings in a professional, efficient and effective manner.
● Regularly go above and beyond expectations of agency and client.
● Record accurate timekeeping daily into the agency’s time management software.
