Presentations

1. Workplace Research: I was the Lead nurse leader for the quality improvement project for the use of a sacral dressing in at-risk patients as part of a Pressure Ulcer Prevention Bundle on med-surgical unit. The project explored incorporating preventive barrier dressings into the current workflow, well-described in ICU settings where risk is high for sacral ulcers.

part of a pressure ulcer prevention bundle]. Palmetto Health Richland, Columbia, SC.

2. Graduate Research: My ongoing doctoral research is focused on the impact of implementing a multi-component CRC screening initiative among eligible patients at a federally qualified health center (FQHC) over a four-week period. Several changes in workflow are planned to facilitate an improvement in the CRC screening rate at the project site. All interventions will be introduced simultaneously within the project timeframe, and pre- and post-intervention screening and demographic data collected will be compared and analyzed for the success and feasibility of the interventions. I hope to submit this work as a first author publication once complete in the next few months.
