Volunteer

Group Counselor for Camp Mosaic. My role includes gaining stronger communication skills, adapting to a new environment, and building problem-solving skills. I also wanna promote inclusivity and help these participants feel safe and engaged.

Girl scouts is an organization that empowers youth towards change and teaches them the value of community service.

Study Buddies is an organization where I assist children who are first generation Americans that struggle to learn English by helping them with their assignments. This responsibility has impacted me to become more open minded and learn the idea of commitment while giving the students a safe environment to learn and grow.

South Asian Student Association Club gave me a role of leadership. This club was a way for me to create a stronger community by hosting events such as garba night and more. I learned how to communicate with teachers to host events while creating a space for South Asians to learn more about their heritage and meet new people.

Kids4Cure shared a purpose to spread awareness about the effects of cancer while creating fundraising events to engage the community. It helped me develop a form of compassion and responsibility since I was volunteering with patients who are going through cancer and providing them support.

Northshore Hospital Volunteer helped me become more flexible since I was given different roles and developed strong problem solving skills. I would help out in nursing units and front desk operations to make sure everything is going well.

Achieved my girl scout awards:

Bronze award: I created blankets for dogs at shelters and distributed them throughout different shelters.

Silver award: I created spring gift bags to distribute to younger children. It was filled with a coloring book, and seeds to plant a flower. Outside of the bag there was a poem written about spring.

I also received my presidential award which was done from gaining volunteer hours and experiences.
