Hess Corporation
01.2021 - Current
  • Technical authority for overseeing the technical aspects of the subsea production system
  • Leading and engaging dialogue within Hess as well as with partners on existing and future flow assurance challenges.
  • Developed and maintained operating envelopes for subsea wells and facilities using OLGA, PIPESIM, and PVTSim to track system behavior across life-of-field stages.
  • Performed routine integrated production system modeling to optimize gas lift and chemical injection in deepwater Gulf of Mexico environments.
  • Initiated measures to enhance operational efficiency, including investigating underlying causes of failure, postponement reduction strategies, as well as examined output figures and operational expenditure.
  • Represented Hess in design reviews, PHAs, and HAZOPs alongside partners like Chevron and Shell to validate operational plans and startup procedures.
  • Analyzed OPEX trends to identify optimization areas in chemical programs and sparing strategy.
  • CAPITAL PROJECTS FLOW ASSURANCE ADVISOR
  • Ensured the successful completion of subsea tiebacks for greenfield projects with a budget of approximately 500-750 MM.

CCUS Strategy consultant

Talos Energy
01.2022 - 01.2023
  • Examine potential strategies related to Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) and suggest strategies and plans of action to upper management.
  • Investigate various technological and renewable resources to fulfill energy transition demands.
  • Liaise with vendors to maximize efficiency of facility and midstream design.
  • Guide and instruct well/nodal analysis and tubing size design modeling.
  • Capital projects flow assurance lead, Murphy Oil corporation (2018-2021)
  • Led flow assurance design and oversight for King's Quay ($1.5B) and subsea tiebacks Nearly Headless Nick & Calliope ($200–$500MM), ensuring operability from pre-FEED through startup.
  • Performed a technical assessment of potential merger and acquisition opportunities.
  • Led production engineering input into pre-ops and startup reviews for King’s Quay and associated subsea tiebacks, ensuring flow assurance and operational reliability from day one.

Production and Flow Assurance Engineer

Anadarko Petroleum
01.2012 - 01.2019
  • Developed the field operating guidelines for 10 Deepwater platforms which were utilized by Production Engineers, Team Leaders, Fields Operators, and other personnel to provide clarity and optimize the efficiency of operations.
  • Optimized the flow assurance chemical program for an acquired field which resulted in annual savings of 12.5MM.
  • Successfully implemented a one-of-a-kind hydrate inhibitor (KHI). The first application of KHI in the Gulf of Mexico.
  • Developed and calibrated >30 subsea/topside meters and designed virtual metering strategy, generating $12MM+ in measurement cost savings.
  • Modeled and optimized gas lift injection strategies across multiple deepwater wells using PIPESIM and GAP, improving lift efficiency and reducing backpressure.
  • Supported water injection performance reviews, including tracking injectivity decline, chemical dosing, and water compatibility analysis.
  • CAPITAL PROJECTS FLOW ASSURANCE ENGINEER
  • Designed one of the longest tiebacks in the Gulf of Mexico with a distance of over 30 miles; unique approached led to savings of more than 70MM.
  • Designed one of the highest-pressure rating fields in the Gulf of Mexico with a reservoir pressure more than 25,000 psia.
  • Provided basis of design from a flow assurance perspective, which includes risk related to hydrate, paraffin, asphaltene, scale, corrosion, erosion, slugging and chemical deliverability.
