I am currently working day (A) shift at Central Precinct. I have been with the Bureau for 8 years. I am a District Officer by choice working the West side core area. I chose to work this area because I not only know it well, but I know the citizens and businesses that occupy it. Most of them know me by name, have my card and know that they can rely on me to do follow up for them. I actively work many of their cases for positive outcomes. Follow through is important to gain trust and respect with the community. I have worked and been invited to multiple special events without my district involving churches, hotels and local coffee shops. I have spoken at places to employees about theft and how to look for criminal activity signs. I have done security walk throughs on buildings that were newer to Portland and made sure they were aware of the “hot spot” areas of common criminal activity and how to properly report it. I take pride in my district and how I work it daily.
I am currently a Peer Mentor Officer that is assigned a student with the Sunshine Division. This program was developed to assist with the Z MAN Program to have an Officer develop a mentorship with a high school student to help answer questions about law enforcement and guidance through possible educational opportunities for their future. I do frequent events with the Division as well as for the Bureau when needed.
My strengths are how I communicate and relate to anyone I meet to achieve a goal that I am after I am compassionate, honest and hold my values as a human and Officer to a high level I am able to obtain critical information when needed and maintain control during high risk or intense situations I am receptive to critiques and am open to new ideas when presented I enjoy working with a team, have goals set and execute those goals together I believe that a strong team is a necessity in accomplishing a goal It is important to have positive relationships with your teammates and to work through issues as they come I am additionally a “scribe” for the Bureau which means that I listen to multiple radio’s at once while transcribing digitally everything into a computer system for large events/protests I did this in 2020-2021 and plan to continue to do this in the future
Over the years, I have successfully talked down multiple people off of bridges and buildings using the skills I have been taught as a police officer in communication, patience and teamwork

I have had the privilege to attend and volunteer with multiple volunteer and work opportunities while working with Portland. I have done the women’s career fair multiple times, Portland recruiting events at U of O, Special Olympics and the Portland Girls Fire Camp. The Portland Fire Camp is one that I take a lot of pride in because Portland Fire has been putting on the girl’s camp for 15 years now and Portland Police have never been involved or invited to it. I have gained relationships within the Fire Bureau, attended some of their events and was invited to participate as a volunteer in it. I volunteered for 2022 and it went so well that they invited me back as a camp counselor. In 2023, the Bureau approved me and another female Officer to be camp counselors for 3 days and we worked with them directly, showing them both the Fire side and Police side of First Response. We were the only Officer counselors out of all Fire Department Women, so we felt very special. In 2024, they invited me back and I am now bringing a female Sgt with me and a CCSO DA to join. We all work closely with each other, and this is a great opportunity to not only give young women a preview of Fire responders in Fire, but also in the other fields that they see. We are role models and leaders in our field of work, and I plan on continuing doing volunteer work while I work with this agency.
