Research Projects

  • Psych 270 (Research Methods in Psychology), Student: Conducted survey-based research looking at a relationship between the Big 5 personality traits and various forms of lying (vindictive, altruistic, and self-serving). Created a Qualtrics survey, compiled a list of questions receiving over 300 responses. Wrote a research paper on the background, methods, data, results, limitations, and future implications based on the findings
  • Psych 531 (Psychometrics, Tests and Measurements), Student: Developed a 15 item Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) 7-point Likert scale based on previous research involving various GAD scale developments. The scale questions assessed the likelihood of GAD based on physical, cognitive, and behavioral symptoms, while also assessing for possibility of comorbid depression. The final product was run using PsychR to assess the scale’s validity and the merit of the questions after being taken by a 25-person sample group.
